Workshop Name: Introduction to Copperplate x Lowercase
Date & Day: 27th July 2019, Saturday
Time: 10am - 1pm
Location: Singapore, Central, TBA
Teacher: Charlotte Xu (@Charlartscript)
Overview: Introduction to Copperplate x Lowercase
A pointed pen consists of a pointed ‘nib’ and a pen holder, the nib flexes to produce thin to thick lines based on the precise pressure applied to it. This special pen is used to produce beautiful scripts used in elegant wedding invitations, certificates, and many projects from small to large, one of them being Copperplate Calligraphy.
During this 3-hour introductory workshop, Charlotte will be guiding you through the fundamentals of the pointed pen and Copperplate Calligraphy. She will be teaching you the proper posture, positioning and movements that will help you get started in writing calligraphy. Then we will delve into the lowercase letters (minuscules) and learn the incredible structure and pen control techniques that will allow you to execute a beautiful hand of copperplate lowercase letters.
Each student will receive plenty of one-on-one guidance from Charlotte to ensure that, by the end of the class, you will have a strong foundation in copperplate calligraphy.
Upon completing this class, you will be able to further your skills in the two classes on the following day:
